Mic for Parrot Bluetooth Kit

hi, im just about to install my parrot bluetooth kit. ive read a few old threads and all of them say to mount the Mic at the A pillar. well in my cooper i have the sunroof and on the panel where the switch is to open the sunroof is an little grill where it seems to me a Mic could fit. i was thinking this was the space for the factory bluetooth mic. can i put the mic there or would it effect the quality of my voice when I'm talking seeing as is behind the grill..
any advice would be appreciated..
