Hey guys. I am looking at buying a 53 reg cooper in black which has the black and red interior with the red door cards. I must admit I am not a fan of the red as there is just too much of it.

Does anyone one know how often new door cards (front and back) come up for sale and how much I would be looking at.

I haven't seen the car yet but assuming the door cards are leather and can't be repainted.

Someones expert advise would be much appreciated.

I know that new door cards alone are £400 for the pair, but I don't know the price for the rears and I think you will need the inner lip to the boot as well. Budget about a £1000 all in from the dealers and respraying them isn't a practical option.

I've seen complete sets of panels come up on eBay, though none have been for sale recently.

The completely red interior is certainly not for everyone. Personally I'd keep looking for another one; there are plenty of really nice used Cooper S's around so you can afford to be fussy.

I've got all red inside my Cooper.. I love it... looks good with the black and white combo too

they come up for sale all the time on ebay but as someone said used cooper s's come up for sale all the time too so maybe keep looking for exactly what you want
