Question Dealer Fitted iPOD

Hi guys had a quick search around but i cant find anyone's opnion on the dealer fitted ipod connection. In my previous cooper i have just sold, i had an alpine head unit which was brill as the ipod sat in the glove box and the head unit displayed artist, track, album etc etc. Now i have bought a cooper s i has come with the MFSW, and i like the look of the standard single slot cd player (with boost).

I know there are kits available to use with the MFSW, but id prefer to keep the head unit OEM. So is the dealer fit one any good? I think you have to make playlists rather than just accesing the ipod like you normaly would? And i got quoted around 200 pound for it? Does that sound about right?

Thanks in advance people

There are kits that are better than than OEM one that will work with the OEM HU and MFSW. Check with Mikey at NewMINIStuff.com for the Dension Gateway. These units are WAY better than the OEM Ipod version and less of a headach.

It can....

I believe that you can run the wire to the glovebox with this kit as well.

NewMINIStuff.com

Mikey could better answer that.

Mikey's harness is usually plug and play. So all you would have to do is run the wire to the front. It isn't hard as long as you take your time.
