ive noticed on some minis im looking at particularly the older ones, some of them dont have a glove box but a shelf?

why is this? also does that mean you cant fit a glove box if so?

It was an option early on - but it can easily be retro fitted. Became standard on all MINI's eventually - except the GP's for weight reasons
