A funny thing happened to my car today. I was driving along listening to a CD through the multi-changer on my factory fit Mini-Disc player. Anywho, I changed from CD to Radio but inadvertently switched to the Mini-Disc source instead. Anyway I was driving so I didn't notice immediately, but then the player started making a funny noise, and after a bit started playing the CD again. I had a look at the display and it said MD ERROR. "Strange" I thought.

Now, I have never actually used the Mini-Disc player as I don't have any discs. It was just in the car when I got it. Curious, I looked inside the hole where you put the discs, and to my amazement, there was a Mini-Disc inside! So I took it back to the dealers I bought from in August last year, and they looked at it for me. They confirmed a disc was indeed stuck inside, and they said it (the unit) would need to be replaced as they couldn't get it out! Its a bit silly really as I bought the car from them and you would have thought that they would have checked something like that before selling it to me!

I asked if it could be replaced with a CD unit instead of an MD one under warranty, and they said probably not, unless the MD player is no longer available. Can anyone tell me if they do still make the MD player at all, as BMW said they will have to look into it.
