Offline | I just bought myself alpine type s component speakers to replace the existing front woofer and tweeter. The alpine speakers came with two crossover units as well. Does that mean the original standard speakers also have a crossover unit? if so, where is it located so i can remove it? thanks |

| MINI2 Veteran | I believe the crossover is in the tweeter assembly. As in, its a resistor attached to the tweeter. Take it out and you will find it. Good luck with the S series, ![]() Focus > Mini One > Mini Cooper > Mini Cooper > BMW 316 > BMW 318 > MINI ONE > BMW 120i > MINI ONE PEPPER! - IM BACK!! |

Offline | ah k. also the alpine tweeters are bigger than factory. and it appears the factory tweeter bracket is one piece with the door handle backing. in that case, how do i install the alpine tweeter? do i just have to cut the factory bracket? |

| MINI2 Veteran | Hey there, yer the factory ones are small. What I did was removed the plastic clip holding them in and put some foam behind the aftermarket tweeters to hold them in place. ![]() Focus > Mini One > Mini Cooper > Mini Cooper > BMW 316 > BMW 318 > MINI ONE > BMW 120i > MINI ONE PEPPER! - IM BACK!! |

Offline | Its all done and it sounds great =] Took some time at the start, had to alter the bracket that came with the alpine speakers. Used zip ties to mount the tweeter on. there was heaps of room to put the crossover too. Also got a mbq compact sub with internal amp (realy small!) in the boot and the setup is perfect! much more clearer than stock. |
