nice- wot subs/ speakers/ amps etc are you going for?
i am thinking of gettin a new cooper D and want to get the factory sat nav. however i am into my sounds in a big way and will want to fit in my alpine head unit and the erst of my system. is this possible? will i be able to listen to my musice and use the satnav at the same time? or will i have to choose between either keeping the sat nav with the standard mini system

G'day aussie11,

I've never used fibreglass before so I'll be most interested in watching your project come together. Please keep the photo's coming as work progresses.

Cheers

I have got Rockford Fosgate sub and amp, and Infinity front and back going in. Not sure if you can change the headunit in the R56. You should be able to have music and Sat-nav runnig at the same time.

looks excellent Aussie. Extra special as unlike mine you are fitting it yourself. Hope it all goes well with installing the Amp and the maze of wiring.

I've never improved/upgraded my stereos, so this might be a bit of a newbie question. Sorry!

Is there a logic to the placement of sound deadening? I would assume you need to cover everything to ensure you dampen the vibrations but a lot of the pics i have seen only have certain areas covered?

The main areas are where the speakers are, The tailgate in most cases needs doing too. I have done the doors, rear quarters, the boot floor and the tailgate. makes the sound alot better

sub box

hi Aussie11,
I like your sub box. I was thinking of doing a similar job to mine but whats the white stuff you paint over the masking tape before the fibreglass. Is this a gel coat and does it not leak through on to your carpet ?
