MK3 Navigation

Hi there, I am looking at buying a MK3 navigation system for my Mini.

Can anyone tell me if it is capable of installing the TV function at a later date?

I have got a funny feeling it's the MK4, but would like someone to clarify me on this.

Thanks!!

Do you mean retrofitting the OEM nav system?

hi rakey,

thanks for your reply.

it helps a bit, but really I was looking at the differences between the MK3 navigation and the MK4 navigation.

As MK3 is significantly cheaper, I was wondering is it not as capable as the MK4. I was looking at adding the TV function but not sure if it works on the MK3

Mk3 is CD based, Mk 4 is DVD based but tboth work with TV function, the TV functionality (software) is in the TV controller not the Navigation computer.

Cheers chris. Somebody told me that the Tv funtion is pretty easy, u just need a modulator which you can get from a few places including halfords.

Is this true as I see that Mini charge £700 extra to have the TV function
