I was getting rattle's through the speakers on the Harmon Kardon. I read an article on motorfile.com about fixing this problem. I bought a set of foam speaker pockets and a role dynamat to do the front doors and maybe the rear speakers.

Once again one thing leads to another and I'm thinking about upgrading the speakers to JL XR range plus I've got a JL 300/4 Slash sitting in my room which has been used in two years. I've done the whole sound system thing before and sound proofing, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go ahead and upgrade speakers and maybe put the amp in.

Has anyone upgraded the Harmon Kardon system and kept the standard headunit? What replacing the amp or keeping it?

AS its an R53 S with battery in the boot its easy enough to run the 4guage power cable.
