Offline | < September 2002 Boost Cd - Ipod Right I got a 2002 September build Bosst CD slot car. The CD changer is not attached (although prep is apparently done according to spec sheet. I also have a Parrot 3200 fitted. What are other <2003 set-up users running, how have you connected your ipods (what links etc) and do you run it in conjunction with a bluetooth kit. Has everyone with earlier cars opted to go aftermarket to fit their Ipods are are there users on OEM HUs still. Info and costs are appreciated as I am trying to wiegh up my options. I would love to retain the OEM orange and steering wheel controls but if the costs of a good HU with built in bluetooth etc outweights it too much then I wont. What options are there? |

Offline | I gave up, was in exactly the same boat. Couldn't be bothered with cost and hassle. I have an alpine HU, the orange illumination matches the dash perfectly (although switched off the buttons are transparent grey/green) has ipod interface too. Although when connected up you can't operate the ipod, you have to use the HU controls. One this I will mention, I can't stress this enough... The OEM HU is really, really, really, really crap. I was completely speechless as to how bad it is. Fitting a cheapish (£130) alpine made my car sound the speakers had been revamped and a sub fitted, it is almost as good as the hi fi in my house LOL. I mainly listen to Metal / Alternative etc. |

| Back To My Old Self | Posted the following in another thread this morning. Sorry I tried a straight copy and paste but the links didn't work. http://www.mini2.com/forum/3358718-post3.html Now I know that you are saying yours is an early type Boost CD without the AUX input at the back. But I think that you can use the CD changer socket as AUX on the early HUs. Sure that's what Mikey told me, but best check. What you won't get with an early (pre 05) CD is the scrolling titles on the Gateway 100/300. Unless you know a friendly MINI2er with a very late Boost HU they can let you have ![]() ![]() |

Offline | As he says we have an aux in for early boosts that dont have aux in ! NewMINIStuff.com Or new head unit - this one has an aux in on the front & an optional full ipod interface, it is black with amber display so goes well in the Mini, does titles etc and sounds better than the factory stereo Clarion 379 - NewMINIStuff.com |
