Offline | If by "side sills" you mean the aluminium plate with the COOPER S / COOPER / ONE / MINI on it, I have fitted them for people too Aero-kits in the past, they do sit a little proud because the Aero-kit has a flat surface & the original sill-covers have a recessed area for the trims .You have to be very careful removing used ones from the old sill-covers, the Main Dealers wouldn't bother swapping them over as they just dispose of them and replace them with new ones if needed as they're easily damaged & there's a little messing about involved. They are stuck on with double sided tape, you will need a sharp knife or scraper to remove them as you have to try and not bend them (just pulling them etc...) as they bend very easily (can also go white when the aluminium is bent) and never go back on properly once bent and they easily mark or dent from underneath using implements / tools trying to remove them, so you have to be quite careful. Fitting used ones, you will have to clean off all the old tape replacing it with new and just stick them on making sure the surface is clean, sometimes helps if the surface is slightly warm (hair-dryer), and make sure they're straight / central as you have no recess to guide you .![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind. Offline | The DIY has pictures showing how to remove the strips from your Cooper sills and clean the glue residue from the strips. Once you've done this it's a matter of using double-sided tape to put the Cooper strips on top the Aero sills. |
