Hey all,

Picked up my 06 MCS yesterday and spent a bit of time driving it today .. got a few questions about the radio which im hoping someone can help e with.

1 - when i turn the car on the radio doesnt come on ... and similarly, when turn the car off and remove the key the radio keeps playing - is this supposed to happen?

2 - while driving the radio turns itself off ... on an hours drive i had to turn it back on 3 times! Im guessing this isnt normal?

3 - at night when driving the radio preset number dont light up - ie 1-6 so no idea what station im tyring to select - is this the same for eveyone?

4 - the radio reception is shocking ... trying to pick up a major commercial station in south london is proving impossible -never had probs with it before - even the radio on my phone is better!

Car is still under warranty and dealer will be getting a call on monday but though id ask u guys first!

Sounds like a fuse has gone (there are 2 for the radio)
OR mavb & more likely someone has removed a wave radio & fitted a boost but not used the correct wiring adaptor

Or in some cases that I've seen, chopped a connector from a MINI fitted with boost & wired it up wrong (got the wires crossed , but it's the same thing really ) .

Its from a mini cherished dealer... looks like its going back to them to have it sorted! Can get them to sort it all out - god bless warranties!

Mikey - going to save up and come see u for the £500 package .. sound is okay, but im sure u can make it better!
