| The Power Cube | Harmon Kardon All, How much do you think a Harmon Kardon system could be sold for? I am considering removing mine, head unit, amp, all speakers. Would it be in high demand? Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

Offline | Why do this? It has been well documented that the h/k sound in the MINI is one the best sounding systems available. You will need to spend many thousands to get a comparable sounding after market system. ![]() |

Online | Actually, all you need to spend is £525 +VAT NewMINIStuff.com With the amount of sound deadening Mikey uses, his setup (to my ears) sounds much better than HK ![]() ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Your having a laugh i take it. Give me a £200 Alpine head unit and a proper set of components with Tweeters up front and one 10inch sub and i will show you the best sounding system available. And it won't cost much over £450 ad proves for good quality sound you need very little. Getting back to Karl's question, well i hae seen some on ebay, price varies due to the hassle involved in wiring it all in. Some have gone for as low as £100 overs up to 250 ish. To be honest its not much in demand as after market stuff is more freely available and if chosen wisely is a whole lot better then the HK wil ever be. Plus remeber its 6yr old technology now and speaker design changes every year. I'd keep it. If anything just remove the pants rear 6 x 9's For anyone to use a set of 6 x 9's in a car is disgusting they are the worst sounding speakers in the world. No True Audiophile will use 6x9's horrible ( visions coming into my head of my mates old Uno Turbo and his homemade rear shelf and Tornado 6x9's what were thinking back n the day ![]() ) |

Offline | To answer the original question (many days later!), the H/K parts are of little use to anyone wanting to put H/K in their car, unless you rip out the H/K-specific wiring harness too. The H/K wiring is very different to a standard MINI, with speakers running from the amp in the trunk, not from behind the HU. However, there are often people - especially over on NorthAmericanMotoring - looking to buy a H/K amp to replace one that failed; you might be able to sell the amp and perhaps speakers as spares ... and the head unit itself, when disconnected from the H/K amp, is a totally stock unit, useful to anyone that wants a MINI HU. |
