Replacing Radio Cassette Player

Hello I wonder if anyone can help?

We are getting our first Cherished Mini this week and would like to add a CD player as there is just a Cassette unit factory fitted (I didn't fancy paying £400 for a CD player direct from BMW!).

Firstly is it possible to connect a CD autochanger to the standard cassette unit fitted or are do we have to get a replacement head unit. I realise that you can get a mounting bracket to accommodate other CD players but I would personally prefer to keep the car looking as standard as possible.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Hello Welcome, The Disk changers go for about £70 on Ebay, and the wiring should already be there in the boot on the right hand side

Or you could just replace the head unit, depends if you want the option of carrying 6 disks about with you

Some Minis don't have the CD changer wiring (depending on their age) - do check the right hand compartment in the boot for two plugs first
