| MINI2 Regular | My on going factory fit sat nav problem Some of you may have read about my sat nav problems elsewhere but It is still playing up and is now even worse ![]() I have an 02 mcs with factory fit sat nav. It originally came with a cd unit, which we swopped for a dvd unit, as with a cd unit you cant update the discs. I bought the latest dvd map and it worked for a short while then stopped working for some reason. I bought this off ebay and wasnt entirely sure it was the real thing, even though it came in a BMW case. I ended up having to put back in the 2002/3 cd that it came with originally. After a recent visit to Sytner, I asked the technician if he had a dvd he could try for me but he wouldnt do it and said I needed to buy a new BMW dvd, £200+ and then have it programmed (even more expense) and even then they still couldnt guarantee it would work. Well by this time I was completely confused :? The cd thats in now wont allow me to enter postcodes, so is rather slow to use. A few weeks ago I bought a new head unit and now the 'lady' has stopped speaking Is that because of the new head unit? Also my mfsw has stopped working too, although I have been told I can buy a lead for that.Has anyone ever come across these problems and can anyone help me with any advice etc? Also one last thing....I have been gradually buying the chrome interior bits and pieces and my last purchase was the dual speedo/rev counter trim. Neither of us can get the original trim off. The chrome trim has 4 clips and we have tried pressing in the same places on the old trim to no avail. We've pulled and even tried a screwdriver to prize it off but it still wont budge  Anyone ever removed theirs? If not its going to have to be broken off ![]() Any help would be great ![]() Last edited by J8YMP : May 20th, 2008 at 04:41 PM. Reason: i'm an idiot |

Offline | To bring back your nav voice you need a navigation interface - NewMINIStuff.com To bring back your MFSW you need a MFSW interface - NewMINIStuff.com On your nav problems there are lots of factory nav experts on here so you should get some help. ALternatively we are about to launch a Garmin navigation module for the factory nav screen. This will give you a far more up to date navigation system - 7 digit postcode, full europe mapping, speed camera option. |
