Question Heated Seat Question

I scanned all of the heated seat threads I could find and did not find an answer to this question. I am assuming that the two lights position on the heated seats is high and one light is low. Is this correct? They don't say in the owners manual.

Thanks In Advance

Yes, two lights is bloody hot and one light is just hot.

My understanding - from my dealer - is that both lights are seat and back, one light is back only...

I have bun warmer seats, and both positions heat the seat and seat back. You are right about hot and bloody hot though.

I also agree that one light gives some butt warming, not just two lights. One light = temporary sterility, two lights equals permanent

Yes, when the hubby turned on his seat for the first time, he started singing "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire."

LOL! Good one!
Doesn't it also raise a question whether or not you "did the unthinkable...oh, oh" after gassing on a hot seat?

Why am I not surprised at the lack of product knowledge that many of the dealers exhibit?

I love my car, but the dealer network needs a bit of work.

I've been told by a dealer that all seat warmer heat up only the bottom. You just feel it on your back because of the heat travelling up your back.

We could start a BDSM-style poll such as "How long have you withstood your heated seats with both lights on?"

My definitions (no wonder the manual is silent on this point):
2 lights: Siberia
1 light: Max. 90 seconds or burn in hell

P.S. see my signature below:

Cooper S BRG/B, Chili, DSC, Overheated seats, auto A/C, OBC, heated mirrors/jets, Boost + CD. delivered 24.09.02 (ordered 11.09.01). MAX tint on back 3 windows. 17" S-Lites with Dunlop summer run-flats. 16" X-Lites with Goodyear Ultra Grip run-flats for winter. Remus exhaust (LOUD !).

I do like the heated seats, but I've only had one light on so far. There is just something about warm buns on a cold drive to work that starts your day off right. Course, I only have a five minute drive...

I like that they heat up fast. I generally turn them on until I feel them and then turn them off or else I start singing the chesnut song too.

My wife, however, likes to use them all the time, full blast as a massage for her back! Even in the summer! Go figure... Glad I got them though. "Which car should we take, honey? The one with heated seats?"

Down here in Florida we have the AC on most of the time, but I still use my seat heaters. Its quite therapeutic(SP?) for my lumbar region. ICY HOT

Where do the dealers get their misinformation? I can't believe that two separate dealers are both telling their customers:
1) Information so obviously wrong,
2) Incorrect information that is within the dealer's ability to go check within about two minutes in order to provide the correct information.

Note to all MINI dealers and salesfolks: There are *only* two cars in your entire lineup and those two are strikingly similar. There is still a line around the block to buy your cars, there's not a lot of 'traditional' selling involved, order-taking is your job right now. Use your extra time to learn your product and really impress the buyer, it will pay benefits in the long run. Cars don't remain #1 in popularity forever and some effort will be required to sell them in the future, just ask the folks that sold PT Cruisers and new Beetles.

Some folks on the list (MiniJewel and MiniQueen come immediately to mind) have already learned this and are excused from this lesson.
