Offline | Hi there, Thought you might find this interesting. The seats are produced by Johnson Controls in Redditch, UK. Johnson's were responsible for the design and development, but they use many different sub-suppliers to provide the many parts that make up the complete seat. It is standard practice in the auto industry to spread the development risk in this way, using the specific areas of expertise that each supplier might have. This doesn't mean that the parts are 'off-the-shelf', they have been individually designed to meet the exact requirements that have been requested by the customer (BMW) and pass all of the ever tightening world-wide legal demands. It's quite possible that Recaro have been involved in the MINI seat. My first guess would be that they supply either the seat slides, or the recliner mechanism that everyone loves?!...Apologies to Recaro if they don't supply it! However, it's not so normal to be able to see the component supplier information on the seat. Usually, if the component is not available as a spare part you will just see the part number that Johnson's use to identify the part; and if it is available as a spare part, you will see the BMW part number as well. Cheers, Soopacoopa |

Offline | thanks soopacoopa. Recently, I found the character of RECARO to a part for the lower part of a sheet. My car is the January, 2002 bild. It seems that this seal is not stuck on the latest car. |
