Offline | Engraved Mini shift knobs At last!! I finally found the time to figure out the new programming system, so I can now engrave the "Whalen Shift Machine" gearshift knobs for you folks who have been waiting so patiently. I will honor the group buy price of $85.00 (plus $20.00 for engraving), for another week or so. Thanks to everyone for bearing with me these past few weeks! Doug W. |

Offline | I recommend buying a second one! Or maybe even one for each day of the week, and I'll engrave the day on them! But, if the boss doesn't agree, I'd be happy to brush your polished one up for you, if you take care of the postage. |

| MINI2 Senior | hmmm, looks really good(the polished one ofcourse) so youre saying that it fits on to the current stick and can be removed easily? but how can u remove the one we get from miniwithout breaking it? what if i want one and im in the middle east? btw just got this idea, if u engrave stuff on it then why dont u engrave the curvy S logo on the shift knob? |

Offline | It fits onto the shift lever using a "quick-disconnect" type of fitting, similar to a compressed air fitting. Very easy and quick to install and remove, yet it will remain locked onto the lever very securely, unless you pull up on the spring-loaded locking collar. I've got a patent applied for, but who knows whether anything will come of it. The stock knob, as with all BMW knobs, is removed with brute force. You pull straight up on it, WITHOUT TWISTING, and it will pop off. Just watch out that you don't hit yourself in the face when it comes off. Happens all the time! If you'd like, I'll check on the postage cost to your location. I have no idea what kinds of customs costs and taxes you might have to deal with. I do know that my Canadian customers get soaked pretty badly. As for the logo, my attorney advised me that I'd be playing with fire by infringing on BMW's trademarked logos, etc., so I don't sell any knobs with that stuff on them. I do make them for my own use, though! |

Offline | Does look good, not sure its my cup of tea though. But on behalf of all the Cooper owners (and sorry if this has been asked before) will you be doing a 5 speed version? ![]() |

Offline | Sure! I've been making these knobs for almost a year now,(first one was for my own M Roadster) but only been engraving them for a few months. Mainly selling to Z3 owners (all 5-speeds). I've also done some "weird" custom stuff, and currently trying to find time to develop stone shift knobs. Rather than using 2" diameter stainless steel spheres, I'm going to be boring holes into 2" stone spheres (all different types and colors of stone) and inserting my attachment mechanism into them. I don't know if they'll sell, but it's fun to experiment with different things! |
