It's probably been asked before but is it possible to fit a glovebox to 2002 spec cars that only have the shelf?
If so at what cost?

Yes...my dealerhas fixed it, last week.
€€??$$$??£££??? I don't know, yet, I did'nt received the invoice ..yet.
But I think around € 250 / $ 250 , I know it's a lot ...but I think it's 100% word.

Andy, was this price quoted as ex-VAT and fitting? If so, how much were you charged for fitting? I have just been quoted £76.82 ex-VAT (ie. £90.26) for the box alone by my dealer (Williams Mini, Bolton) and they're getting back to me with the costs for fitting (apparently they have to ask Mini for this cost!!).

It's starting to not look worth it to me. Trouble is here in Manchester if you leave anything on display (ie. on the parcel shelf) you're just asking for a smashed window. My side pockets are bursting at the seams, so a glove box would be mighty handy.

Work € 82.76
total = € 210,77 or +/- £ 85 (VAT 21% inclusive)

Er I think €210 is nearer to £140

OK so that's about €174.19 ex VAT (21%) which at the current exchange rate (€1.54: £1) is about £113.11 ex VAT or £132.90 inc VAT (17.5%). Allowing for rip-off Britain then, if they try to charge me more than say £140 they're trying a fast one!! Trouble is this seems likely since your quote of €128 (inc 21% VAT) for the box alone is a bit cheaper than my quote of £90.26 (inc 17.5% VAT) even without taking into account we pay less VAT!!

They have yet to get back to me with the fitting costs, so I think I'll go in in person to inspect one of these 'exclusive' glove boxes in the flesh to see if it's worth the moola!

In a similar vein, does anyknow if you can remove the glovebox from a 2003 and be left with a shelf? Would I end up with more rattles if I get rid?
