Question Is Your NAV all that you hoped it would be?

For those of you who bought the NAV system, is it all that you hoped it would be? Does it work well? Do you use it - or has the "novelty" worn off?

I've spec'd out my MCS to include the NAV system (even tho it's the CD-Rom based system) and wondered if it was more a novelty thing or whether MC'ers who bought it actually find it useful.

Thanks in advance for your continued support!!!!

We had a Thread here on MINI2 that discussed the US version of the NAV system in some detail.

Thats bellow the belt all we did was come over the brow of the hill too fast and missed the right turn (something you would know nothing about)

Too fast is a Cooper thing
Probably missed the turn due to watching in mirror to see if the Cooper's' boys could keep up

I was enjoying ours - until it died!!!! Taking it in tomorrow to have the whole drive thingy replaced I think.

I liked the fact that it not only told you how to get somewhere but calculated how long it should take you. Sometimes the woman giving directions gets on your nerves - especially when she asks you to"if at all possible" do a U turn across a dual carriage way !!!!

But on the whole it is useful - not sure if I've had chance to use it to it's best yet. I have found it moreuseful as a passenger to use the maps to naviagate us on short cuts (I know a map would have been just as easy) but the close ups in towns are great/
