Just a quick question to the board.

My S Works arrives in late May and I've ordered the HK Stereo. However, I currently have a very good Alpine headunit that I am considering transferring across to the Mini.

Now, my questions are;

1. If I use an aftermarket stereo with the HK system, will I lose all the functions that the Mini system offers?

2. Are there issues with a good sound setup / quality with aftermarket stereos and the HK system?

3. Am I going to have a lot of problems trying to get the HK system to work well with the Alpine system?

From what I can see, the Mini system is £130 extra and I'm just trying to weigh up whether or not I will end up spending more than this trying to get my Alpine unit to work well.

Hope someone out there can help me

well it's never been done before!

I'm guessing you'll lose some of the features but might retain some of the sound quality... Unless one of the adapters would help... mikeythemini seems to be the best bloke to ask about adapters and the like at the moment

He advertises on the interior and ice forum too...
