Offline | Boost and Wave? Hi, This may seem a very stupid question? I did search for it but didnt get a straight answer? What is the difference between BOOST AND WAVE? I have gone for WAVE Cassette and the 6-disk changer? Is this an ok choice? Any opinions would be appreciated? Thanks! I have a Liquid Yellow/Black Cooper with the Chilli Package, 17" S-spoke Alloys, Panoramic Sunroofs, ASC+T, the factory Tinted windows, 6-disk changer and the Multi Function Steering Wheel !!! ALSO HAVE FITTED A JCW EXHAUST !!! |

Offline | The headunit on the boost has higher output than the wave. I've gone for wave on my new car as the speakers are same on both specs. Will be changing the headunit to an aftermarket one. Offline | Thanks Kinster! I was thinking of exchanging for an aftermarket one, as I had a TV screen, PS2, DVD player, Dolby Surround Sound etc in my classic Mini but I think i`ll stick with standard in my new one as Ive ordered the 6-disk changer and the steering wheel controls from factory! Offline | I have the WAVE cassetter with CD changer. It is pretty good, although pretty basic bass and no functions on the changer like random or repeat - only play, skip, search, change disc. Main diffs between boost/wave as far i know are boost gets: 1. small built-in amp for better output. 2. rca pre-out 3. options on cd changer like random 4. Possible Aux input now on 03 models, not sure though! 5. Don't know what diffs there are on the tape deck - possibly and digital tape deck? Dingdangdoo! |

Offline | My car is on order, and I never saw an option to order Boost or Wave, how do I know which I am getting? Is the Wave the stock option? Flea: MINI Cooper, Chili Red w/white roof |

Offline | The radio WAVE has 4x5 watt output, with the upgraded BOOST offering an improved 4x15 watt. Personally if your not planning on changing the headunit/speakers I would pay the little bit extra for the BOOST, its not much and you may regret it. 4x5 watt is pretty pathetic. 2003 DS/DS Cooper S |

Offline | Thanks, Paul. No wonder I was confused by this, not having seen this option anywhere. Glad we get the better of the two as standard. Flea: MINI Cooper, Chili Red w/white roof |

Offline | CD Boosts cost £205 (£135+£70). You could get a lot better aftermarket for £150. I've currently got Boost in my Cooper, but have not specced it for my S as I'm getting an CD/MP3 Blaupunkt for £179.99 Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A.
