Offline | AUX input on Harman-Kardon for iPod? Thinking about getting a Cooper here in the US, and I noticed that the specs for the H/K system list an "auxilliary input". What's this input compatible with? Can I plug my iPod into it with an RCA cable? |

Offline | All 2003 models come with Auxiliary input capability. You can plug any audio device you want into it. Click here to read the thread that discusses how to make your own Aux input cable for next to nothing. Otherwise, MINI will be selling a cable kit that has a headphone-style plug input on it (1/8" mini plug, female adapter). Don't forget to use the Search button in the forums... you'd have gotten quite a few hits on "aux input" or "auxiliary input". ![]() 2003 Dark Silver / Black Cooper S Black Leatherette, Anthracite Trim, Premium / Sport / Cold Packages, HK Stereo, Auto Wipers / Mirror Visit My MINI Site |

Offline | Thanks msenkbeil, I found the thread on the DIY aux port enabling earlier, but I was hoping to avoid disabling the CD changer. In any case I've got next to no electronics experience and I'd rather avoid mucking about with brand new equipment! I'll wait to see what MINI's kit costs before I invest in a soldering iron. |

Offline | Teko - Read the thread I linked above... You don't need to disable the CD Changer. I made my cable from an old pair of headphones (used the wire and the headphone plug) and an old cable from a CD-ROM player. If you're wanting to avoid working with wires, just buy the kit from MINI... You have to remove the radio to install it, so the dealer may charge a pretty penny to install it. I'm a DIY kind of guy. ![]() 2003 Dark Silver / Black Cooper S Black Leatherette, Anthracite Trim, Premium / Sport / Cold Packages, HK Stereo, Auto Wipers / Mirror Visit My MINI Site |

| MINI2 Senior | If you have no electronics experience, and don't have a friend who does and could help, probably best to wait. This is not complex, but it doesn't take a little know-how, and some hand tools and a soldering iron. Dave Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?
