Manual says it's the turn signal indicators. Rapid flashing means the system is defective. That's all I could find. The only other green light is cruise control (no arrow). Hope that helps.

Hey, aren't you glad she took the manual and not the Mini?

If you have the MF wheel, you are turning on the cruise. I did that when I first got my MINI, and it drove me nuts.

yea, providing you have the multi-wheel, that is the light indication cruise control has been turned on, but not activated. i'll bet you keep hitting that button "intermittently" while you're doing some hard motoring! of the 6 black buttons on the front of your steering wheel, the top oval button on each side is your horn. the next button down on the left side should say "res", and that is your cruise "resume" button. the bottom button on the left is the button in question...the cruise control "on/off" button. You must turn that light on, before you can set cruise. the middle button, with a "+" sign, on the right side of the wheel, sets cruise at whatever speed you wish, and also will speed you up while in cruise. the bottom button on the right side, with the
"-" sign, will slow you down while in cruise. have fun, and i hope this helps!
