Just an informal survey as to how many have installed the Whalen Shift Knob on their MINI's. I saw one in OBEHAVE's gallery and thought that it looks very slick.
Please respond if you have one. How does it work out for you, do you feel that it is worth the cost? etc.

I don't have one, but I've heard that it helps make the gear switching much smoother. It's nice, but I personally like the stock knob.

I love mine. It is so beautifully made that I considered buying a second one to keep in my office when I'm not in my MINI.

I've seen the photos, and they look magnificent. Real works of art. I believe, however, that they are slightly smaller than the original. Those of us with big hand like a big shifter. If/when Doug makes one larger, I will be considering it.

I have the privilage of owning the 1st ever MINI Whalen knob and think it a) is a great piece of engineering b)looks like jewelery c) helps the shifting smoothness and d) fits my hand perfectly.

I bought the polished version and liked it so much that I ordered the satin/brushed version. IMHO, the satin looks better with the AP interior, so the polished model sits on a shelf in my garage. I thought about contacting Doug and inquiring on returning it (polished version), and having the brushed finish and engraving applied.

What size would you want?
I buy the stainless steel spheres and do the machine work on them, and can easily pick up a bigger one, if you'd like.

Cool! I don't actually have a specific size in mind, other than the orginal size. What about anodizing? We can talk about it on April 26.

This knob is worth every penny. At first I thought it was outrageously expensive. But once you get it in your hand and feel the difference it makes in shifting (especially the throw into reverse), it is probably one of the best mods you can do to your car.

I had a WSM on my Z3 and just got one for my MCS. I think it's worth every penny even even if it was twice the price.

This is without a DOUBT the BEST personalized mod you ever could do for your MINI! My wife, who really does not take too much of an interst in aftermarket mods....REALLY noticed the knob. We had a friend over and SHE got out the knob to show them! Can't say enough about it.....it's well worth the price.....Can't wait for hand brake handle.. ..huh Doug...

I've had mine for a few months and am constantly aware of its function and form. There really isn't a mod that can touch that presence. Speed and RPMs are irrelevant.

I have the knob, but not the MINI! I hope to take delivery of the MC next week. Cannot wait to change out the knob. I hope it feels as well shifting as it looks.
