Mirrors with "blind angle" part

As I do not know the proper translation in English, I call it "blind angle". These mirrors have a division so that you also can see the traffic in the very nearby the car

All Bimmers (and other European cars) do have these kinds of mirror glasses, is there one available for the Mini ? (at least not in the accessory brochure)

TIA

very "Works".

Ummm, I know the term as "blind spot", but "blind angle" is just as good I guess.

I know what mirrors you're talking about, and I don't think they're available for the Mini. At least not over here.

I'm not aware that MINI or BMW make one specifically for our cars but you can always buy one of these...
It just sticks to the side view mirrors with double sided sticky tape.

I had them on my previous car and plan on putting them on my Cooper S when I get a chance.

Agreed, theres too much risk trusting a small mirror like that.

I wouldn't drive on a highway without one of those stick-on mirrors - mine is rectangular though.

The idea is to use your regular sideview mirror as you do now, and the little one solely for the blind spot. If there is no vehicle showing in either mirror, you're good.

Once you realize that you can trust the two mirrors you don't have to look over your shoulder, which I think is far more dangerous.

If you can't trust your mirrors and always have to look over your shoulder, why have the mirrors?

Shouldn't be trusted for what Dec? As a single place to check when maneuvering?

The small round "bullet" mirrors provide an excellent view of the side of your car and what's behind especially since the "B" pillar can obscure a portion of the view. While I don't have bullet mirrors on my MINI, I do on my Explorer. A great addition and really enhanced safe driving.

In any case though, a look over the shoulder is a required move when changing lanes, as is signaling, checking all mirrors, etc.

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?

a blind angle mirrorglass should have been fitted/ integrated as OEM in the first place.

hmm do people have such a problem with blindspots? if i adjust the mirrors out enough, cars will disappear from my mirrors and appear in my peripheral vision right away. so there is very little blindspot on the car.

i still turn around if i haven't been keeping an eye on traffic, but i do look at the side mirrors constantly (keeping track of what cars are behind me and what cars have passed me)

Green Cooper

If you are used driving cars with blind spot separation mirro glasses, suddenly driving without is a bit of a surprise. With the special glasses you can IMHO better anticipate to the busy traffic (here in Europe)

Look at www.griotsgarage.com under the interior heading for their autobahn mirror. I have one in my S and it works quite nicely - $19.95.

minhi - i agree...most people don't know how to have their mirrors set, you shouldn't be able to see the side of your car, you should have them adjusted out to just past where the side of the car is visible, but a slight lean(few inches) and you can see the side. This covers MOST of the blindspot but not 100%, I still look over my shoulder...but I also watch my rearview mirror and watch for traffic that is coming by me. Though in busy city traffic this can't be done as there is just too many cars.
