ipod and the FM radio setup

Just speaking about the "wireless" version of getting this little baby working in your car,
Has anyone tried this older version of the FM transmiter or the new one at that matter.... How is the quality of the sound?

I personaly think this is the best way to go when you own 2 vehicles, as long as its good quality?

the old version can be found at the link below, and the new one at apple.com right now. I like the old one because all it neads is cig lighter, which I was not going to use for ipod anyhow.

the fm adapters suck!
it makes the audio sound much worse than mp3's already sound!
get the blitzsafe adapter, it's expensive, but sooooo worth it!
if your other car has a tape deck the tape adapters sound much better than the FM ones!

hmmm, no wonder its not being talked about then!
Well, if thats true there is no way I want it.
Maybe i'll just stick with the adapter right up front.
To use the blitzsafe, I have to run wires further than I want to.

There is a new Belkin FM transmitter for the ipod that just came out, and I HATE fm transmitters, but this one actually sounds really good. I use it a lot in my MINI now. Only problem is you need to change the batteries.

yea I saw that one, but before I spend the $30 for it, and like you said, deal with all the chaning batteries, I want to know that its crystal clear sound.
if its not, I don't think its worth it.

so you notice no difference?

Beg to differ - but the iRock FM adapter in my experience is OK. Not great, but OK. My contention is that at 70mph, I can't hear the difference anyhow.

And if all you want is your iPod hooked up, since you have an '03, build your own cable (or get very old waiting for MINI to ship theirs). I did mine with the CD Changer plug and a cable I had at home. Cost = $0.00 and an hour of my time. Wanted to see the inside of the dash anyhow.

Regards,

Dave

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?

The Belkin has five channels and is MUCH better than the iRock. (Ive owned both) The quality is fine until I can get the actual MINI part.

and the fact that this can be taken in any car, is cool. I sometimes have to take the family out in the Toyota..... yes I know... I drive another car also
