Offline | Too dark? Hi guys, I'm expecting my Cooper at the beginning of July, and I've specced colours as follows:- Indi Blue with Black roof/mirror caps Anthracite trim Black cloth/leather Kaleido (chili pack) I've also gone for the H/K sound system, sounded great. But, after a bit of thinking, does anyone else think this combo will be a bit dark inside? All-black seats and anthracite. I've seen the anthracite with the same seats before and liked it but maybe it's a bit dull? BUT, the Harmon Kardon speakers come in silver, not the usual anthracite (dark grey) surround you get with the standard system. Also, the door handle/tweeter are in silver, and of course that elusive rev-counter's still in silver... I think I may have just convinced myself then Perhaps that touch of silver will lift it up a bit.If it was black I think it'd be a problem, but with IB, it's not THAT dark blue, and what with all the chrome line exterior etc (and lots of metal on the 17" S-spokes), perhaps it won't be dull at all? Opinions please!! :-) |

Offline | mine is black outside, chilli with black/white check roof, white wheels and white mirrors, black half leather seats and anthracite as yours. The chrome line is cool. I decided to let the outside 'shout' and the inside be calm and dark. I may be older than you? but I would tire of a red interior. Remember the MG Metro with its red seatbelts?. Also I think the average Cooper purchaser will go for the silver trim as it is standard on the MINI ONE and so wish to be different (but are not) It doesnt seem to be as hard wearing either (do a search) All my friends and others think the black/chrome/white is the best but it is high maintainance with cleaning, especially the white wheels |

Offline | That won't be 'dull' at all! Ours will be all black, crome wing mirrors, silver black UJ, black half leather, allot patina trim and tinted windows all round! It will look spot on! Only annoying thing is from what I have heard the salewoman liked the sound of it that much and she has ordered a very similar one to what we are getting !! |

Offline | Okay - mine's an Indi Blue, black roof Cooper with the 'dark' interior, H/K and it looks great. Will see if I can mail you some pics if you like so you can get a feel for it. The only bugger is that I fear it might need a tad more dusting than the silver interior... |

| The Naughtiest of Birds | I own a totally black Cooper S with tinted windows, black wheels, no chrome (just black), black leather seats and black mats. I even have black show plates. Yet, I am a very happy person! Not a manic depressive or goth. I haven't met anyone yet who has the same, although I reckon that there's loads of black Cooper Ss out there! |

Offline | Perhaps I guess, but I kinda like the silver bezel... makes the tach stand out.... I would love an Anthricite bezel if the silver on the steering wheel could be changed to match too.... Hmmmm some carefull testing with hobby paint.. and alot of care with masking tape... Damit you have me thinking...LOL Jason 03 Cooper JB/W '99 Saab 9-3 Se HOT going by by for MINI 1970 Datsun 510 project car |

Offline | I'm getting the same in July - Indi Blue/Blk roof with anthracite. Only difference is I ordered Blk leatherette sport seats. I like the subtlety of the darker less contrasted interior over the high contrast of the silver or alloy. JMO. And from the moment I ordered it I planned to paint that tach trim ring to match the anthracite. It just stands out too much for me. The steering wheel trim and stalks can stay as is, but the tach trim ring is way too big to leave silver next to all that anthracite. I'll post pics when I've done the job. |
