Offline | Mikey, you have stated that your adapters work for some of the new USA Alpine HU's. I just purchased the new Alpine CDA-9856. Works well with the Ipod, but i am looking into restoring the MFSW controls. Does the 9856 support the MFSW by hardwiring or do i have to use the IR sensor to make it work? thanks, |

Offline | The 9856 doesn't support the steering wheel remote (If you look on the alpine-usa.com site, at the features/specs for your model, it shows this). An IR version that supports the Alpine codes should work. I just ordered the 9857, which does support the steering wheel remote though. However, I don't know how to tell if I need the Wave or Boost version. How do I determine this? |

Offline | Hi Sorry if this is the wrong section! I've got a Alpine CDA-9833R head unit which I want to fit in my new (for me) Mini Cooper. It already has a BOOST CD player in it but wanted to put my Alpine in! The confusion for me comes with my MFSW. Do I just buy the cable off of newministuff? If so can someone give me a link to ensure I get the right one? Also is it just one cable I'm going to need or are there other bits needed too? Just to make it slightly more confusing I also want to install the Alpine KCA iPod adaptor. Any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers! |

Offline | cutting out I just installed a new alpine 9857 hu and a PAC-ALP hardwire mfsw interface. My steering wheel remote funtion is cutting out after it's been on for an hour or so. I surf back and forth without any problem between all functions: radio, cd, ipod, change tracks, etc. Everything works as it should. Then, without warning , it stops taking the signal from the steering wheel buttons. Although the head unit still functions. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas? |

Offline | hugh1, have you found an answer yet? what resets it and makes it work again. I was looking at doing the same thing on my just-ordered MC-S. I was also going to get the EVO bluetooth unit and use the phone button on the MFSW. Any suggestions? Thanks, |

Offline | The problem has happened only two or three times since installation in late May, and I use the car daily, several times a day. All I need to do is restart the car and then the mfsw works as it should again. It has not been enough of an issue for me to pull out the radio and reprogram the PAC. I had the install done at a shop several hundred miles from home, and I'm not sure I could reprogram it myself. Since it has only happened those few times, I'm leaving well enough alone. As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm completely satisfied with the 9857/PAC-ALP mod. The stock speakers sound much improved, and I've postponed replacing them for the immediate future. I too would like to hear if anyone else experienced the same thing as me. |

| I miss my MINI | EVERYONE.... If you have a question regarding ICE other that the MFSW interoperability with radios, please post it in a new thread, not in the sticky for product updates. That way everyone can benefit rather than people that monitor this thread. Thank you. Global Moderator ![]() Last edited by DaFlake : Aug 4th, 2006 at 06:52 AM. |
