I don't think it can be retro fitted. if it could it would cost an arm and a leg.

I actually think it can be retrofitted, but it's very expensive. Wait a few weeks and you can forget about it for the winter anyway!

Move to Scotland

Believe it can be retro-fitted. There's a price of £1200 (parts only) for climate control in the MINI accessories brochure.

Why do you regret not getting it?

I wouldnt be without it, not only cause of the cooling effects but also for the safety aspects of demisting.

My MINI after 14 months has never had a problem with misting.

Does AC release moisture into the car after you switch it off?

KenL, are you seriously telling me that you get into the car on one of our notoriously wet days in Glasgow, say with your clothes wet, or with passengers in the car that the windows never mist up, mini or any other car?

I do not know the scientific reasons for it but under certain conditions all cars I have owned have at one time or another misted up on the inside. Before a/c I simply put the air on to blow on the windows, it clears up but it takes an age to get a clear windscreen. WIth a/c a press of the button and the screen is clear in an instant. That is why I get a/c on all my cars.

AC is quicker to clear misted windows but I've never had a problem with misty windows in my MINI yet.

Also I live in the east now (Borrheid boy originally so I know about rain )which is a lot drier than Glasgow so maybe it would be worse there.

If I ever got the inside really wet it may be a different story after that though

Cheers,
Ken.
