Offline | Nokia Bluetooth Questions Hi all, I'm looking to get the nokia bluetooth handfree kit for my MINI and I've got a couple of questions: 1) The kit comes with an external speaker, is it possible to hook it into the stereo speakers? 2) Does it require an external antenna? 3) Where is the best place to house the actual unit? In the boot? 4) How big is the unit? Any help would be great, Taffster Chilli Red with Black Roof/Mirrors, Manual Air con, ASC + T, Chrome Inlays, Front Fogs, Single CD with Boost, Sports Seats, TLC and space saver. | MINI2 Regular | There are extra cables and plugs you can buy that allow you to link into the audio system. The unit is about 12cm x 9cm x 5cm. I don't think the cables are long enough to fit in the boot if you want to connect to the audio system. I don't have an extra antenna as my unit uses the shark fin from the Sat Nav. I had mine fitted by a local ICE company, which is why my answers are a little vague. Black Jack |

Offline | Mine box is under the glovebox in a little space behind, the button is next to the wind mirror controls and the is in the space next to the control for the sunroof (pending you have one). No external antenna required. I had the system to standard head unit at first and was perfect worked really well with automatic radio mute - now I have alpine setup the radio mute is not in use but excellent system |

Offline | Thanks for the info guys, Ashley, how did you mount the unit? Did you use any additional cables that weren't in the kit to get the sound through the standard head unit? Offline | taffster- the unit can go behind the panel at the end of the dash on the passenger side, no aerial required, check my site, I do an adaptor that will plug between your radio & the nokia kit, powering it & putting the sound through the speakers. It is a really easy plug & play install p.s. what stereo have you got- wave or boost or HK What phone are you using?? mike |

Offline | Thanks for the info. Which panel at the end of the dash? Humour me here please I've got the Boost Single CD system and a Nokia 6310i. Also re the adapter you mention, what functionality would I loose if I don't get the adapter? Offline | When you open the door you can see the end of the dash which is hidden when the door is shut. A plastic panel about 10" tall that clips out. My kit mainly makes for an easier install. Means you don't have to attatch wires to the car wiring to power the phone. It plugs into the radio & provides plugs that go straight into your nokia kit. It mutes the radio when the phone rings & says phone inn the screen (It is possible to find these wires & do this without the kit) It also puts the sound through your door speakers (without the kit you will need to fit the nokia speaker) Mike |

Offline | Fantastic Kit Just fitted my Nokia Car kit using Mike's kit. It took a whole of 30min to fit my Nokia car kit. It works really good and no little speaker to fit. I fitted my microphone beside the headlight adjustment seems to work really well there. Plus much easier than hunting wires and cheaper than getting someone else to fit it (Even though I used to fit them @ work) See Mike best money you will spend plus the cheap clip on mobile phone bracket works well. I simply painted it silver check out his site ![]() 1968 Mk1 Morris Cooper S 1310cc Downton Lake Green - White 1974 Leyland Mini 1098c Country Cream 2008 MINI Cooper S Chilli Pepper White - Black Roof |

Offline | 1) Does anyone know if that Nokia Bluetooth kit will work with the Sony Erricson P800? I've gotten my P800 to work with 2 other bluetooth devices so far. 2) When your Nokia kit auto mutes the boost radio...is it a full mute or a certain percentage mute like when my Nav directions kick in? 3) Which Nokia Bluetooth Kit did you use? Thanks |

Offline | Thats just typical! Create a standardised mark/spec and some bugger has to mess it up! Good Job I wouldn't touch any other phone with a large stick, and my new one doesn't have blue tooth. Looking forward to the interface kit you posted about mike ![]() ![]() |

Offline | I keep the Nokia Cark112 and the new CW1 version, probly best off with the new one, it looks the same but has better software so will work with other phones if you change in the future, I have the plug & play interface for these. Comes with a small button which most people velcro to the mirror adjuster. Press the button & say the persons name to dial them. Or press it to answer an incoming call. Volume is a ring around the button. With the plug & play interface sound will come through the car speakers |
