CD Problems

A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread on problems with the single CD player as it was skipping. i ttok the car into the dealer last week and they fitted a new one. This seems a wee bit better but is still skipping now and again.

The dealer have said they will contact Mini to see if its a general problem but I wondered if I could get a show of hands of anyone else out there who had had a similar problem with the standard CD radio boost setup.

Cheers all

Best to do a search as this has been well covered before, my Coopers CD Boost jumped more than Skippy the bush kangaroo ever did.

My Boost player did exactly the same thing.

I found that the following procedure cured the problem for me...

1) carefully remove the head unit from the car (see other FAQ's on this site for details)
2) place head unit upside down on a workbench and fetch out your trusty multi meter
3) use the multimeter probes to carefully push the head unit off the workbench and into the wastebasket
4) fit a new aftermarket head unit

Seriously though... I was fed up with the standard unit, and the aftermarket unit serves me much much better. No skips, better sound etc
