Offline | ballerik, Sorry but I didn't know that I would advise you to contact your dealer as they should know this about ommission (the fact that only the Oslo area is on the map) and they must have dealt with solving this problem for BMW drivers as well. ![]() very "Works". |

Offline | mhoutman, Thanks. But I think the dealer knows even less than me. When I got the car they did not even know where to put the DVD. They sell mostly BMW. I have read on NAVTECH's homepage (who deliver the maps ???) that only parts of Norway is covered. I guess they don't bother making map of Norway. |

Offline | well perhaps it is time to emigrate Sorry I can't help you any further, but the dealer should know about BMW roadmaps covering complete Norway. BMW DVD's (or CD's) should be compatible with Mini's. Michiel P.S. You also should file a complaint at your dealer and MINI Norge, as they have sold you something which is (partly) unusable. Besides that, why should you invest such an amount for a nav system which is barely capable of doing its job. Tell them that they must find a solution or they should have told you on forehand about the unpractical system (which is an understatement)) ![]() very "Works". |

| Just along for the ride | That's the downside of the NAV CDs from NavTech, once you get out of what they consider to be an "urban" area, coverage sucks. Even more frustrating is that NavTech probably has the roads digitized and in their database but for some unknown reason they aren't putting them on the CDs. Case in point maps.yahoo.com gets its data from NavTech. I can find an address and get directions there for places that aren't on my Nav CDs. |

Offline | Hello Ballerik, welcome to the forum and as a Mini owner. Not many Norwegians here... I have a MCS, live in Oslo and use an iPAQ with TomTom v2 software for navigation. Excellent maps covering all of our lovely country (as well as the rest of europe). These maps definetly won't match with the MIni Nav system. Regards, Tore |
