Offline | Gee, I hope this one touch up has sensors enough to stop! ![]() The 2004 manual is available through MINIUSA's owners lounge. If you want, I'm sure some kind soul will email it to you. ![]() |

Offline | My 2004 Cooper has one touch closing on the drivers side only. There does not seem to be a safety cut-out, but the feature only works with the key in the "ignition on" position. Presumably the thinking is that having the ignition switched on implies that there is someone in the drivers seat (who can make sure that nothing gets trapped in the closing window). |

| Have not understood why the sunroof has one touch (open/close) in the US. Wouldn't this be a safety issue also? Like the option though, so am not interested in changing it. |

Offline | I beleive that the 2002 owners manual also says they can be programmed to "one touch" up. But as we all know that can not be programmed in US markets. So I think this might be the case with the 2004 manual, but only time will tell. ![]() |

Offline | Smokey, you're right. The manual has always said it's an option. Since it's standard in Eurpoean markets where the drivers side can be on the left or the right, it is POSSIBLE to have it work on either / both sides, but in the USA it has never been enabled. I'd expect that the 2004s will not have it enabled in US markets either. The programmer that the dealer uses is country-specific too, so you can't even talk your dealer into enabling it for you (hence the long process to get rear fogs in the US). If enough people wanted it and signed a petition... who knows... ![]() |

Offline | Can't see us winning a petition for auto-up windows. The only possible attempt at safety-related is holding the switch to close the window after paying the toll, and not being able to change gear! And the BMW lawyers no doubt have lots of litigation worries if the function is enabled over here ... probably more likely that the feature will disappear in other countries, if the lawyers there get as "keen" as they are here. However ... ![]() |

Offline | The sunroof has anti-trap build in. Is it not more unsafe to have a driver trying to close a window after paying a toll than the small chance of the driver getting some thing stuck in the closing window? |
