Offline | H/K rear speakers Firstly, let me apologise as the H/K subject comes up all the time. I have just finished searching on this matter, before someone suggests it. My question is this: Does anyone else have very little output from the rear speakers on h/k mode (and instrumental/electronic). Most of the bass seems to be produced from the lower speakers in the front, and not much from the back (you can put your hand on the rear grille, and they don't seem to be doing much at all compared with the lower fronts). When I change to either Spatial or Festive the rears sound fine, so there's no problem with the connection. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Maybe its just my music doesn't have low enough freqs? Last edited by Spacer : Nov 19th, 2003 at 02:32 PM. |

Compare with what you normally hear. NOTE: the fade on HK is a bit wierd, but it does do what you expect when fully front or rear. |

Offline | Yea, thanks for the reply. I'd found tons of threads, but it was all 'oh, my H/K has too much bass, etc', and plenty about the rear speakers only producing bass. I'll try it tonight when I get home fiddling with the fader, but as I say, most of the bass seems to be done by the front speakers. I do understand about the fader being a bit odd, as instead of fading, it actually increases/decreases the bass in h/k mode. It just seems stange that really the front speakers seem to be doing all the work, while the backs don't do much (even when they are meant to be doing all the low freqs, it seems like the fronts are doing it). As I say, I'll try fiddling more later. Its probably just me though, as whatever way its doing it, it still makes a great noise ![]() |

Offline | Right. I've had a wee play, and it all sounds fine. Its just I thought that the rears would take more share of the overall frequencies than they currently do. From what I can see, its the lower fronts that make most of the noise. Oh well. Whatever works! |

Offline | Again, thanks for replying. I think its just one of those things that takes quite a bit of playing with. Shame the manual doesn't help more, but the H/K review that is floating about is a great help. |
