Offline | TT Design Parts Armrest Installation Question I just got my TT Design Parts armrest from Mini Mania. Any suggestions from those who already have installed this armrest as to the best way to remove the two plugs near the handbrake without damaging either the plugs or the center console? Any other advice regarding this armrest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

| MINI2 Regular | Just slip your fingernail under one edge od the plug and pull up. The plug will just pop out. Failing that try the edge of a butter knife. Secure the armrest section in the most comfortable position before fixing the whole thing in position. Black Jack |

| MINI2 Regular | The leather padded section will slide backwards and forwards. It's very loose when it arrives, but you can either tighten it up or fix it in one position. I have the dark grey leather. The padding on the armrest is a perfect match. I will post some pictures when my camera is recharged. Black Jack |

Offline | Thanks for the advice. My plugs are really tight, so I might have to use a butter knife. Hopefully, I won't do any damage to the console or plugs during the removal process. By the way, how do you like the armrest? |

Offline | Hello I do recall reading that it is a good idea to stick some kind of adhesive onto the plug to when you prise it away. This prevents it from falling back down the hole when it is removed. Offline | I just installed the armrest. It looks absolutely perfect with the Mini interior. I used a screwdriver to pry out the plugs. After they were out the rest of the installation was a breeze. |

Offline | i ordered one, but when i recieved it and fitted it, i became worried about the choice of material-it's very fragile(my first armrest arrived broken!), i was concerned if someone knocked the armrest from either side it'd fracture. has anyone else had this happen? IMO It looks great but, it's a lot of money for something that could of been built out of a much sturdier material. |

Offline | The armrest does not interfere with the hand brake. It is a perfect match for the interior, and it seems strong enough for its intended use. I don't have a digital camera (I forgot to ask Santa for one) so I can't send any pics, but there are a number of earlier posts on Mini2 as well as other websites which show the armrest installed. I agree that it is a bit expensive, but, IMO. well worth it. In the U.S., you can order it from Mini Mania. They have a liberal return policy so it is easy to return if your not happy with it. |

Offline | Hi Minialex -- The leather part (actually it is leatherette and matches my leatherette interior) is flat (i.e., it does not curve down) with a slightly rounded front. I think it looks great. I attached a miniture garage door opener to the underside wth velcro (it is hidden from sight), so it serves that function as well. |

Offline | The leatherette top piece matches my dark leatherette seats, which in turn match the brake handle and shift boot. The silver side pieces match the silver accents inside the car. I have a silver interior but the armrest would probably look very nice with the antracite interior. |
