Offline | Solid Sunroof Shade I have a MC w/ sunroof. Every now and then the sun shines directly in my eyes through the mesh sunroof shade. I find this to be rather annoying. It would be nice to be able to block the sun when this occurs. (I don't want to wear a hat.) Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? |

Offline | I bought a roof decal which will (if/when I get around to installing it) block some additional percentage of light coming through. There are decals that are solid as well, I believe... |

Offline | two Different solutions ive come up with and have done both in the First mini i had which had the sunroof. 1) Removed the orginal shade and had some custom ones made at Blinds to fit. 2) Went to Walmart bought some posterboard(black) cut to fit inbetween the blind and the sunroof. This way i could have full blockout of the sun. partial block with just the shade. or full open. This made it quick and easy to go from one to another. 02 MCS DS/W (Totaled November 02 on Fall Folage Run) 03 MCS DS/W (See my MINI Profie for extensive list of mods) |

Offline | Good ideas. How easy was it to remove the original shade? Did Blinds to Fit replace the mesh on the original shade with the solid material? How much did they charge? How long did it take, etc? Thanks |

Offline | Removal wasnt to bad from what i remember. The sun roof was on my First 02 mini so i did this almost 2 years ago back in may of 2002. It was rather easy to remove. I just cant remember the exact steps to take. You may want to check the FAQ section to see if there is a posting on how to remove the shade. Blinds to fit did just replace the fabric. Cost was to be about $12.00 per shade, But being the shrewed Bussiness guy i am and this being the newest car to hit our shores. I asked them to put there logo on the shades and the guy wrote it off as a bussiness expense. This is the same way i got the Front stripes for only $25.00 installed and the custom roof decale for only $50.00 installed. Which was the cost of the materials. Oh and sorry i dont have any pics of the install. Never thought about it at the time.
