Offline | LED next to the clock ? After having my car for nearly 4 weeks, I just noticed today an LED infront of the clock, I'm guessing it may be an IR led? Anyone know what it is, really curious now. Cheers, Rowdy |

Offline | The diode for the dimming rear view mirror is actually built into the bottom of the mirror in the centre, in place of the standard "lever" for dipping the mirror. There is another diode though, that senses outside light intensity, but I think that's built into the box in front of the clock that you also get with the dimming mirror (for the rain-sensitive wipers). It could be somewhere else though! Not 100% sure ![]() |

Offline | I cant picture in my mind exactly where you mean. As mentioned above the only things I can think of would be: The rain sensor (which is in a plastic "box" on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror). Doesn't sound like that from your discription. The daylight sensor on the reverse (facing out) of the rear view mirror itself. The IR sensor for the climate control (little purple thing on the dash top in the middle towards the screen). I cant really think of anything else it could be. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Could it be a light sensitive diode rather than an LED to vary the light intensity of the clock display? Offline | Definitely not an alarm sensor. The alarm sensor is located on the headlining underneath the rear aerial of the car. There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |

Offline | Yup, bought new, now 4 weeks old. I'm going to the dealer next week to have my seat looked at as it has a small cut in the leather, I'll ask while I'm there if they know what it is, really bugging me now! Just done a better photo, you can see it better now. Rowdy Last edited by Rowdyates : Feb 12th, 2004 at 07:06 PM. |
