We recently brought our baby home and she is running a light interior fever <ha ha>. Would like suggestions on what type of window tint you would suggest. We live in Southeast Arizona where during the summer temps can get up to over 100 degrees. Has anyone had problems with their rear window tint effecting the defroster? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I chose the Huper Optik ceramic film for my MINI. Main reasons were that it is non metallic which means it won't interfere with cellphones, etc and they claim higher heat rejection without having to go to the darker tints. I've got the Ceramic 40 installed on the sides and back. For five windows installed it was $420. Another option is the v-kool line which permits more light through with similar heat blocking features. huperoptikusa.com has a TV news clip on the site where the test the film.

Since the installer used a heat gun to shrink the film and installed it over the defroster with a lifetime warranty I'm not too worried. Also I've used the defroster several times with no problem. You may notice a slight 'halo' next to the defroster wires where the film covers them but its not noticeable unless you go looking for it.
