United-Kingdom New Head Unit

I've got a 2004 MC with CD Boost but am finding any CDRs I burn with iTunes just skip constantly. I'm thinking of getting a new head unit and preferably want a Sony unit. Can anyone recommend a decent system that will work with the MFSW?

Any help would be appreciated!

I've found if you use good quality metal CDs they often work better in my boost unit than some original CDs that jump around!

Cheers for the swift reply. I'm obviously being dense but am a bit confused by the "good quality metal cds". Is this a brand or type of cd? I've tried so many different brands and even expensive CDRs skip!

I've got an iPod which I use occasionally but its just nice to stick a CD in and rag around.

I've used TDK CD-R80 Metallic Disks with good results...

Best place i found for TDK's is here:

www.kvjfairdeal.com

They are a shop in East End of london, they have a website that is more expensive than shop.

Shop is chq or cash only, mailorder carriage up to about 500 discs is £5!

Ask for Anej (ARNEJ is how it's pronounced), best to buy at least a box (to get best price) which is around 120 discs, shou cost you less than £50 delivered!

Thanks for your help with this one! I don't suppose you know any stockists up north? I don't mind ordering over the net but would rather buy a few and then see that they work before going mad and shelling out lots of cash!!

I use Sony CD-R's from Sainsburys/Savacentre. They always work fine.

CDR's should not skip.
What about a replacement under warranty?

It also depends on the burner too.
theres a few possible problems.

1. say you have a 52x burner and you're burning on media thats 48x. The media cant handle the speed.
2. maybe you're using an old(er) burner? or maybe you're multitasking too much on a older machine?
try burning it at 4x and see what happens before you discount the HU.
