Offline | My MINI is on its way accross the pond right now but someone posted those new numbers here a few weeks ago and I clipped them into my MINI notes file... I did hear from someone who should know that mine (Built on the 12th of march) will have the new windscreen the quote from him about the new glass is interesting "not specifically stronger, but more durable" S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | I think we are mixed up. Are you referring to the front window? I am asking about the accessory window screens you can put in the rear and rear side windows to reduce sun glare in the car. They are shown in the photo in the first post and clip into each window individually. sorry for the confusion. thanks, averyocooper |

Offline | Doctor Wha has em! I just ordered the side ones but the rear is apparently a euro/canadian part only. Doctor Wha says: " Hi Avery, Yes, they are indeed official MINI parts. Now, as Windy and I have discussed, they are relatively new items, so your dealer may not even know they exist yet. Even if they do know about them however, technically, only the side screens are listed in the BMW/MINI computers as "available in US." The reas screen, for some umfathomable reason, is listed as Euro/Canada only. So it has to be special-ordered from Der Fahzzerlahnd, and you'll be waiting a while. I've been waiting for over a month for mine... Anyway, here are the part numbers with which you will doubtlessly confuse and amaze your parts staff: Side Screens: 51 46 0 142 578 Rear Screen: 51 46 0 140 530 A note on the side screens: They come in pairs, with a transport/storage bag, so don't let anyone convince you they need to order two of them! My parts desk wound up with an extra set that way. You may also want to remind the parts folks to make sure they have the installation istructions sent as well, as they come separately, again for some unfathomable reason. Good luck! DW" |

Offline | I have the side and rear screens for our baby in the back, fantastic. For the side screens you just "pop them in", you dont have to stick them in place (they come with sticky velcro fasteners". The rear screen should really be stuck in place with the velcro, but if not you only get a VERY small gap at the top of the screen. |

Offline | Hmmmmmmmm, I wonder if the new law on light transmission thru windows that is giving us problems with tints apply? It wouldn't stop me buying them but if mikeythemini was to fit them will he become a category A prisoner ![]() ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Offline | i got my rear screen from my vancouver connection and it looks great. It didn't come with instructions on where to put the velcro, does it go on the glas or on the plastic? the screen fits pretty snug without any attachments but i thought i should put it in the right place if i decide to use it. i should be getting the side screens from Brian at classic MINI in ohio by week's end. thanks, avery |

Offline | Can anyone else post a picture of what these look like? For some reason, certain pictures don't display to me, like the first on this thread... All I get is a little green box with a question mark in it. Thanks! Sounds like something I will be ordering... |
