OBC retro fit

Hi

I got my Cooper private second hand with the 2 year old chili pack, which doesn't have the OBC as standard. Rydale BMW Sutton Coldfield are quoting me £380 to have it retro fitted, which is a bit steep as the parts only cost £130 + VAT.

Does anyone have a better quote / solution (other than the DIY one found on this site).

Thanks

I'm in exactly the same boat with my coop s , i've bought the indicator with the button but my dealers are quoting over £300 to fit it , there are instructions for fitting a non standard button from the technical oem guides which mentions about running a wire to the speedo connector - but doesn't mention how to fit the retro unit.
can anyone help with the instructions cos it must only take an hour to fit! and i refuse to pay £100 per hour to BM, the cheeky monkeys....

I have a solution for you! - I suggest you fit the indicator stalk (easy job) - then book you car in to have the OBC repared under warranty - telling them its not working!!!

just remember - if you car is not 04 build then you will have the older BC1 and will not get the latest instantanious speed function!

did you ever get your obc fitted and working mate?
ive just retrofitted the oem stalk and wired it using the oem guide myself but my dealer refuses to look at it as they say it should have been fitted by them. so if they damage the ecu when updating the software they will be held liable! load of boll*cks. i say they are just p1ssed that i havent paid them to fit it. what did you ask the dealer to do to make it work?
cheers jairfranz
