ive been in contact with doug about gettin a whalen but am unsure about what kind of import tax i MAY get stuck with.

i no the customs will not definatly check the package and i may not get charged for importation, but if i did, how much will i get stung for?

what are peoples experiences of this?

I orderred one, didn't have to pay any tax though. EIther way, shouldn't be more than 20 quid I wouldn't have thought...

Ring Customs they'll tell you what duty you will have to pay.You may also end up paying for Royal Mail opening it

If you know anyone going to the States for a holiday or business trip ask them to bring one back in their luggage

Doug will mail it to any hotel as long as he has a name and location.
Thats how I got mine last year

No import tax or vat brought in as a present

Im going to the states 25th april for 13 nights, have two houses over there, no mini to play with unfortunately, but a mercedes c320.

ty for the info guys, think ill just take my chances with customs..... exchange rate is so good at the mo anyway that the £20 i could potentially get charged is the saving im making paying in $ at the mo now, so i think its just a case of suck it and see

No duty etc for me.

Believe ( though could be wrong) that if it were stopped then you would need to pay import duty @10% + VAT @17.5%

£20 charge for me . I have heard customs are really hot on it now but still worth it, great product.

i shud b ok as i get anywhere between 1 and 6 DVD's in the post every week from the states so my postman is VERY use to knockin on my door with varying size packages.

been in contact to doug about my design (simple & classic'ish) so will hopefully get away with the tax..... **crossed everythin**
