![]() MCSJCW | iPod - Can the mini handle it ? I've had a look on other threads, but can't find the answer I want ! Can you put an iPod into the standard BOOST CD? Any information would be a great help. Cheers ks_cooper ![]() - Blacky - 2003 MCS JCW Trouble Maker |

Offline | Yes provided your head unit was built after a certain date - some time late 2002/early 03 but I can't remember when. Mine is a March 03 build and it has the AUX ports. Do a search in the ICE forum for AUX and you'll find heaps of info. Hope this helps |

Offline | My dealer said they were ordering more AUX input sets. The things only really cost about $30 or so and you can (in theory) fit it yourself. The back of your CD player should already have a AUX input, and all they do is feed a wire down to a replacement panel (behind the two cupholders) so you can plug in the 3.5mm wires. I had decided not to wait for this and got a Griffin iTrip for my iPod. Transmits via FM so no wires needed Too bad my MINI's stock antenna has horrible reception (even with Sydney radio stations) so I am either going to:a) get MINI to fix my antenna coz it's just so crap b) get them to give me an AUX input c) get a little shark fin antenna myself iPods rule ![]() |

Offline | the Itrips suck on just about any car, using the aux in is the only real alternative most minis after about early 2003 have it if not u can use a device that plugs into the cd changer preperation wires in the boot, run a set of RCA's up to the front of the car to where u wanna plug in your ipod.. It fools the boost headunit into thinking theres a cd-changer installed and lets u change source to the stacker and listen to your ipod.. even works if u have a cd changer installed apparently its a bit of work and i cant remember the name of the doovilacky now, i bought another headunit in the end and sold it to Bkwalker i think it was.. mayb he knows the name if it isnt mentioned in a search of the Interior/ICE section.. where this post should have been actually.. i think swamos is gonna get mad haha ![]() |

Offline | I think Gazah has the same thing installed in the boot that you speak of Flipside. Perhaps you could talk to him too Karen, may be worth a try. - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Offline | You could get a converter/ aux port via the cd prep lead from Mike on here; he sends stuff O/S all of time, if you have trouble find a supplier in Oz. The itrip will always a bit touch and go as the iTrip can only put out so much RF power and it needs to overcome/ live with the full power FM radio stations. Have seen some people up the power of a itrip like device so it could be heard a few blocks away but this option is more for the people that like to play with things. But it does get some good looks from other cars in traffic when they get this new radio station. ![]() |

Offline | i've got a connects2 [aka blitzsafe] adapter so my dension DMP3 player will plug into the Cd-changer prep! i'd suggest going with the dension ICE-link as mikey said... concept is great, & the reviews seem reassuring! good company behind the product also! |
