Question Door reflectors

I've just got some white (instead of red) interior door reflectors for my Cooper, and was wondering what the best way of getting the old ones off is??

Just prising them out with a screwdriver? Or is there another "official" way?

I think prising is the way to go. Although sometimes they just fall off.

Although they usually fall off... (mine now live in the glovebox!)

Do not use a chisel as you will crack them and the base they are mounted to. Just gently pry them off with a nylon (or similar) tool. A small screwdriver with the blade wrapped in masking tape will do in a pinch.

Also, a spot of crazy glue will work to secure them so they can free up the space in your glovebox.

Go to Ikea. Buy something that you think will fit in the car with the seats folded down e.g. a TV/Video stand. Put it in the car and drive home. When you get there, you will discover that the passenger side reflector has fallen off and the door trim is nicely scuffed due to the package being too tight a fit. That's how I found out the way to remove them. Not sure about the driver's side...

Just use a small flat-headed screw driver and they'll pop out

Actually I think a twisting motion is the best way ... they lock by being twisted, so just prying will probably break the securing tabs

Mine have fallen off at least twice ... vibration from driving slowly 'untwists' them until they fall of into the gutter

Are we talking about the small round red reflectors on the inside of both the passenger and driver door?

Mine have never come off, even after repeated Ikea damages to the interior!
