Have an Alpine 9850Ri installed with a full speed ipod Interface in the glove box, all this working with the H/K system, and it sounds amazing! bit heavy on the bass though!!

its very simple to use, and although a little basic, thats all you need!

This is a Blaupunkt Nashville DAB35 a Creative Zen Microphoto and my mobile phone. You might be able to see the vents are illuminated too.

MINIMAT: Did Mikey do the vents for you? Is it just the 2 centre vents you've got done? Looks good!

That does look very much like Mikey's accent lighting...

Yes Mikey did it and it's all four vents. Unfortunatly when I took the pics it was outside the house and there is a street light behind me so the interior isn't really dark enough. I did the pic the night before I went on holiday so I was in a rush. Also the door handles are done but it's only when you are some where dark you really get the full effect. The mounts for the MP3 player and mobile were from Mikey with some holders from Halfords.

Cool Pioneer & iPod install

Hi all,

Thought it was about time I posted some pics of my DIY Pioneer install:
  • Pioneer DEH-P70BT head unit - fitted using aerial, fascia and MFSW adapters from Mikey @newministuff
  • Pioneer CD-IB100 iPod adapter, mounted 'Blue-Peter style' behind the driver's side knee bolster with some double sided tape, foam and velcro
  • iPod lives out of sight in the glove box
  • Bluetooth handsfree is built in to the HU, with microphone mounted on top of the steering column so I don't even need take my phone out of my pocket
(no pic, sorry, but look carefully on the HU you can see phone is connected with battery & signal meter )

The Pioneer iPod interface isn't the most intuitive but I find what works best is to select an album or Playlist before setting off, and then controlling track selection and volume from the steering wheel for minimum distraction whilst driving.

Stock speakers are more than adequate, even with the roof down, although I tend fade the rears down a bit as they don't handle bass as well as the fronts. Might fit a sub at some point if I decide I can sacrifice the boot space

I don't think so. Although I don't have the phone buttons on my steering wheel so can't be sure

just got back from 'newministuff'

had the panasonic CQ-C7303N fitted, with ipod HK & 3 spoke MFSW.

I have to say it's brilliant. Really impressed. Sounds great and looks fab in the car.
(will put some pics up when I've sussed out how to download some pics on the stereo )

From someone who has spent too much money on 'c**p' twice before, listening to what BMW told me, I would recccomend anyone getting a MINI (well current shape anyway ) get the cheapest standard stereo possible ............... then go see mickey.

You'll be happier and have more pennies in the long run.

Gary, how much did your pay for that stealth box? I was thinking of squeezing in a couple of older Kicker Solobaric 8 inchers in a custom box within the false floor.

The Stealth box is by JL its a 10WD2, my friend sells it for around $500, but I'm sure you can get a better price on line. Its can take up to 300 amps.

Canada

A sony MEX-BT5000 recently installed in my 06 mini. (Forgive the fingerprints =P)

Works excellent - bluetooth handsfree and A2DP/AVRCP streaming music.

Havn't yet figgured out how to get the sticky crap off where the cupholder came off.

Sirius xAct instalation photos

I fabricated a universal mounting bracket for the ashtray and installed my xAct Sirius satellite radio there. It also worked for my XM radio when I used to have that.
