Cheers LMB, only issue so far has been the difficulty in navigating 350 albums! I'm saving up for a newer HU which is keg compatible. The album announcer frightens the life out of passengers!

Yup, Phoenix Gold Octane-R 6.5in (165mm) components and tweeters in the front, and Octane-R 6x9in coaxials in the rear. Powered only by the Alpine CDA-9813R head unit, the sound is incredible.

That is one great Alpine. I strongly considered it, but it was just way out of my price range. I went for the CDA-9813R in the end, which is still an incredible unit for under £300. And it matches the amber illumination of the MINI!

Alpine CDA-9831R and as Sebby says, it can set to match the MINI interior perfectly. Also fitted Infinity reference components and 6x9's

The new Sony head units are dealer fit options, anyone with a sony cdxf7500 fitted, got any pics.
I hope the dealer fit will have warranty support, otherwise I'll go aftermarket.

Thanks for the pic - do I take it that the central portion remains multi-colour and cannot be configured to Mini Amber ?

This is correct (a friend of mine has this unit). My CDA-9813R is better in terms of the amber illumination!
