Question Icelink w/Ipod Classic - confused

Hi.

I really want my iPod in my new mini (hopefully on Sat), but am confused about the Icelink. My Ipod's one of the earlier classic models - according to GoMini magazine, it doesn't connect use the Firewire connection at all (just the remote-cable). If so - the battery's gonna go flat pretty sharpish Can anyone confirm? I have the PowerPod adaptor which I use in my current car, but it's a very ugly solution (firewire -to- ciggie lighter).

Also - will the icelink work in conjuction with the 6CD boot-changer?

Cheers then

Will

The icelink for classic connects through the firewire & remote so charges
It cannot be used with a changer

Presumably I can just disconnect the changer though...

Yes the ice link plugs into the back of the stereo instead of the changer.
Sell the changer - once you have the ipod you will never need a changer
Gain more boot space

Totally. ice>Link:iPod emulates (and therefore replaces) the changer.
