United-Kingdom Cruise Control

Hi Guys and Gals

I have just been reading the press release about the US 2005 spec and it lists Cruise Control ! I have then spent 40 minutes reading through every thing i have about the uk spec but cannot find it anywhere!
Is this something we dont have or is it just me being stupid and missing it!
I have ordered the MSF wheel and the brochure says it operates the cruise control ! but does it ?? and if so does anybody now how much??

As an aside has anybody had an IPOD connection Confirmed by MINI yet ?

Cheers!

Neil

Cruise Control only comes with the MFSW and is included in the price.

Yeah, cruise control comes with the MFSW, along with stereo controls, although am I alone in thinking that the actual cruise control system isn't very good, especially the reset speed function. My car seems to over accelerate past the required speed by a few mph, then it slows down below required speed then back up again. I also find its very slow to respond to small speed adjustments using the + and - keys. It certainly not as good as the system I had in my last car ( Alfa 147 )

Yep, definately not as good as my 3 series one. Seems to have some weird controller settings that aren't quite right for the car.

Cheers, Peter

I`ve had no trouble with it.
I think the slight delay between pressing & holding the "+ or -" and the resultant change in speed is a deliberate safety feature, so that any accidental touching of the buttons is ignored by the computer.

Wales Surely cruise control with a manual car can't work !!

Am I right in assuming that the capability of the MINI cruise control is limited.

Every car I have driven with cruise control has been an automatic, which is therefore capable of changing gear to maintain speed, going up a steep hill, say.

Am I getting it?

To answer Neil's other point - seen no official announcement regarding iPod connectivity for Mini... but the reviews of the Denison Ice-link have been so good, I've got one of those ready to fit in my new Coop (which I finally collect this morning! Woo hoo!)

Only theory I have about no www.ipodyourmini.com is that MFSW is not standard. For the BMW models listed at www.ipodyourbmw.com, I believe the MFSW equivalent is standard. Guess it avouds lots of enquiries that they have to answer "No, I'm sorry, without the buttons on your steering wheel it's not really going to work."

Also, downside of the BMW solution is that the iPod goes in the glove box - I'd rather have mine visible and so I can control it manually (when stationary, of course )
