| I'm planning on getting the factory installed NAV for my MCS that I will be ordering soon but I'm not sure about one thing, and I don't think it's been gone into too much detail over: Is the factory NAV compatible with an aftermarket no screen DVD/NAV system? Are there any functionality problems or is the factory NAV restricted to the factory cd/nav system (except for aftermarket cd players)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! -candie |

Offline | You may want to go with the Chrono package if you wish to have the Spedo on the steering wheel. The aftermarket items that are compatable with the DVD Nav. are pricy and excessivly large. If your really into electronic engineering... go for it, if you want to mod further... |

Offline | Alpine is the stock head unit in the current MINI's. http://www.alpine-usa.com/ I have had the DVD-Nav that was shipped with my MINI. It's expandability is too cumbersome and expensive for my taste. If the chrono package was available when I had ordered my MINI, I would have used an aftermarket DVD-Nav. The aftermarket ones have more capability, I.E. mp3 play, DVD movie, DVD nav, and various other add-on's. For the price of what I currently have. |
